This beach doesn’t have all the amenities of Jones Beach, but it doesn’t need them – the ocean will give you everything you need. Bathrooms are available, but you must pay a fee to enter with a vehicle.

Long Beach

Long Beach is a beautiful beach at the West End of Long Island. It is known for an awesome boardwalk where you can go for a nice stroll or bike ride. The City of Long Beach is also somewhere worth checking out for they have many great bars and restaurants.

Cow Meadow Park

It may sound like the name of a farm or petting zoo, but Cow Meadow Park is actually one of the area’s nicest beaches. While it doesn’t have a swimming access area, it’s an excellent place to fish, put your boat in the water, or play a game of basketball. This park consists of over 150 acres of marine wetlands for you to explore, too.

Morgan Memorial Park Beach

Constructed in memory of the wife of famed J.P. Morgan, this beach sits on 40 acres of land in Glen Cove. It’s right at the mouth of the Hempstead Harbor and has plenty of areas to swim, hike, and picnic.

Ocean Beach Park

Consisting of four miles of beachfront property, this beach has a 2.2 mile boardwalk and plenty of activities for families to enjoy. It hosts free concerts three times a week, and is also a great spot to catch a wave. There are also areas to fish, bike, rollerblade, and play beach volleyball.

Lido Beach

This beach is considered one of the best and largest beaches on Long Island. It is great for visitors of all ages and has picnic and barbeque areas along with live entertainment and athletic courts. The beach even hosts events like storytelling programs and arts and crafts lessons!

While fishing and body boarding are designated to certain locations and times of day at this beach, it’s a great beach to visit if you want to have a ton of activities at hand for you to try.

Nickerson Beach

This last beach was recently renovated, and with those renovations became one of the most popular beaches in Nassau County. It’s also one of the most family-friendly, with a Fun Zone designed for kids that features a playground, a baseball diamond, a skate park, and more. This beach also has swimming pools for folks who want to get their feet wet – but don’t want to head out into the ocean.
